Black Locust Blooms
Saturday, May 28, 2022
The Taylor Center of Natural History is pleased to welcome back Greg Monzel of Persimmon Herb School for this exciting program focusing on black locust flowers. A prolific food for humans and pollinators alike, black locust flowers are easy to gather and a pleasure to eat. We will demonstrate best practices for gathering, then prepare and sample black locust flower fritters cooked over the fire. We hope you will cherish this spring treasure from an oft-maligned tree. We will also include the many storied uses of black locust trees beyond eating the flowers.
