Strawtown Koteewi Park may be one of Hamilton County’s best-kept secrets, but not for long.

A year after the Koteewi Range archery center opened to the public, the county park three miles east of downtown Cicero is gearing up for the debut of its Koteewi Aerial Adventure Park & Treetop Trails. And there’s even more fun on the horizon.

When the Hamilton County Juvenile Services Center opened a decade ago, its secure detention facility housed an average of 22 minors each day. Last year, the average daily count was just 9.

Longtime county Board of Health Chairman Garrick Mallery was recognized by Hamilton County Commissioners on Aug. 28 with the Continental Award, the highest honor bestowed on residents who contribute to making our community a better place to live.
