Public Records
The Recorder's Office records and preserves public records, including:
- Articles of Incorporation
- Assumed Business Names
- Deeds
- Leases
- Liens
- Military Discharges
- Mortgages
- Releases
- Subdivision Plats
- Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) Filings
- And other documents
However it does not generally include court orders, decrees, judgments, wills or death certificates.
Public Records Searches
Employees of the Recorder's Office cannot search records. If you know the recording information, you may request a copy from our office. Otherwise, you may come into the office and access one of our seven public computers. Copies of subdivision plats are only available in our office. You can obtain a copy by visiting our office or requesting via email to platrequest@hamiltoncounty.in.gov.
Public Access
No legal advice or opinions will be given by the Recorder's Staff either in person or by telephone. Computers are available in the Recorders Office for public access.
