Flooding & Sandbags

Flooding Fight Operations

Hamilton County Emergency Management maintains a Flood Fight Plan to protect county resources from flooding and provide sandbags to residents of Hamilton County as a free public service.  Sandbags are only available when there is a threat of flooding in accordance with our Flood Fight Plan.  When sandbags are made available, residents can pick them up at the sand barn located at 1717 Pleasant Street, Noblesville, IN.  Sandbags are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The loading, transport, unloading, and use of sandbags is the responsibility of the party picking up and using the bags.  Due to liability, Hamilton County does not load sandbags.

The National Weather Service Advance Hydrologic Prediction Service website can be a useful resource for current weather conditions and up-to-date information on local river levels during a flood event. As a reminder, it is NEVER safe to drive or walk into flood waters.
