Tax Payment Conditions

It is important to understand the conditions related to payments for Property Taxes.

There are several ways to make Tax Payments, please refer to Payment Methods and Lender Information to see all options. 

Tax Payments in General

These conditions apply to all payments:

  • If your payment is returned for any reason there will be a $25.00 NSF fee per county ordinance 09-23-19-A. 
  • If a returned payment causes you to miss the payment deadline, you will be charged a late penalty fee according to the state law, per county ordinance 09-23-19-A.

Additional Online Payment Conditions

These conditions apply to online payments:

  • Online payment is available for most parcels at: https://secure2.hamiltoncounty.in.gov/propertyreports  (There are a few parcels where we can not accept online payments.)
  • If you enter a typo, the payment will be returned and you will be charged a $25.00 NSF fee. You MUST be very careful entering your account information.
  • If paying by e-check, you will be asked to provide your Property ID. This value will be presented to you at the beginning of the payment process, so write it down. 
  • Make sure you select the correct parcel before you submit payment.
  • Convenience fees are non-refundable.
    • If you pay by e-check, you will be charged $1.00. 
    • A convenience fee of 2.5% of the payment amount will be charged for credit, debit, or ATM cards. 
  • It will take 24 to 48 hours for your payment to be recorded on your property records.
  • With online payments, you may choose to make partial payments, and you can schedule a payment to occur on a future date.
