1/11/17: The construction contract has been awarded to Hoosier Pride Excavating. Ditch work and clearing will be conducted over the winter with construction beginning in the Spring of next year.
This structure is located on 256th Street between Anthony Road and Cal Carson Road in Jackson Township.
Reason for Project
Existing structure is a reinforced concrete slab (RCS) with asphalt overlay. Deterioration has occurred at various locations along the coping and abutment. Longitudinal cracking has developed resulting in water leaching into the concrete deck.
The proposed design will widen the roadway and structure to 2 12-foot lanes and minimum 4-foot shoulder. New structure will be able to accommodate a Q100 flood event.
